Finally Trimmed Out on the Cheap

Well I've had setups for a couple years now and haven't gotten around to putting up trim or ceiling protection. Being that it's in the garage, I didn't think it needed it, but kept hearing how it makes the image really stand out and look a lot better. Seeing that it's in the garage, I didn't really want to spend very much. I found 27" wide thin vinyl floor material at Home Depot to use for the borders. It was nice because it had ridges and you could cut it very easily along the ridge. I bought a 10' strip for about $22 and then a harbor freight 8' x 10' mesh tarp for the ceiling. For about $40 total, it was quite an improvement. The mesh tarp is hung like a baffle, sagging down in the middle and connected to piece of1/2" emt out about 4'. I have 4 clamps holding it to the top cross bar on the back side and it just hangs down behind the screen/net.

wbond looks great! if the ball were to hit that vinyl tile.. would it rebound hard or deaden the blow? meaning is that a good insulator against ricochet off the emt?

Yeah, makes it tough to swing as well, screen keeps getting in the way It was just an extra piece to keep the balls from bouncing off the garage floor. That green carpet is the indoor/outdoor stuff from costco. It's pretty thin. One day i'll upgrade to something a little thicker to help deaden it more.

I picked up a 5' X 12' remnant from Home Depot for $20... works great for that. I'm in a barn with concrete floors. Very little bounce.

It would do nothing to deaden the blow. Its quite thin, maybe and 1/8" or less. Purely for aesthetics.

Mesh tarp from Harbor Freight worked for my ceiling and side protections for my enclosure. It's definitely taken some shots.

Looks cool. My setup also uses Harbor Freight for shank curtain and ceiling protection. I really like how you did the borders with the vinyl floor material. I ended using marine grade carpet strips from Walmart along top. Will do the sides next.

Works great for me, stops all my shots from hitting the ceiling and no damage to the tarp at all.

richerod Is the side tarp attached to a curtain track? Looks like it must track behind the impact screen when you put it away.

Also, how did you attach the ceiling tarp?
