TGC 2017 SPRING TOUR Schedule

RULES AND GUIDELINES

Purpose
To offer an online league format that facilitates all that we enjoy about playing the Sport of Golf. To make Tournament settings on each round that compare to PGA standards.

Integrity
Golf is a sport of honesty, all players are expected not to treat this like a game but treat it as if you were actually participating in live Events. Please do not cheat or manipulate the Game to give yourself and advantage. We encourage play with other online players but one can play by themselves or with a ghost ball. Scores get automatically added via TGC API so no need to enter scores. Mulligans are allowed only if there is a miss read or hardware/game error. Multiple simulator platforms will be in play.

I noticed we don't have Erin Hills in there. I'm thinking about trying to give it a go. Debating between the 7100 or the 6700. Any thoughts? I'm afraid I won't do it any justice since I have never seen this course aside from the images online.

The Erin Hills (major) version is 7450 yards of insanity! The fairways are narrow, the rough is long, and the greens are lightning. Id be surprised if anyone in the US Open finishes in the red this year.

Yeah..... hopefully, a ProTee version will be available someday. Harbour Town is a good example where the ProTee version went too far with making it easy......the greens were too flat for my liking. ProTee versions should be widening the fairways a bit and be a little shorter. We really don't need the greens to be flat. I love Magnolia because even the slopes of the greens are accurate. It's cool when you are watching the pros putt and you kind of know what they are facing...... like #2 If you land your approach shot in the middle of the green it could roll right to the pin on the far right. Some of the designers go to great lengths to make the courses accurate.

How do we go about contacting the designer about a shorter version? Is that something protee can do? The course seems to be pretty accurate

I'll see if I can give it a go this week. I won't promise pin-point accuracy, but as mthunt mentioned, there may be some good resources. Especially with the U.S. Open being played there soon.

I'll try and have it done with enough time for testing to see if it is a viable option for the tour.

Got the first four holes done on Erin Hills. Haven't added the hills yet. I'll do that at the end. Hopefully I'll do it justice. The bunkers won't be sculpted accurately, but they'll be the proper size and in the right location.

LOL, I thought you were talking about playing it in earlier posts, didnt realize you were designing it.. awesome!! Here is an elevation finder that I use for the general layout on courses i recreate. Thanks! This will help a lot. I'm building it on flat land now. After they are all laid out I'll do touchups and then add the hills at the end. Then do a final touch up. I hope to have it done by May 15th so people have time to decide if it's good enough for the tourney

I figured out how to trace Erin Hills. I'm using Google Earth amd it looks like the most recent image they have of it is 2015. I'll have to look at any changes they made.

Yes sir. After I get the frame work of the course I'm going to clean it up then go hole by hole and compare it to those drawings and the flyovers. Then I'll go back and add the hills as best I can. That's going to be the toughest part since I have not been there and you can only gain so much from the pictures and videos. It'll all be worth it if it's acceptable to play in the tourney!

Testers, how long will you need to test, as in, what is the last possible day to put it out there for testing and to decide if it's worthy? I get my computer back next week and want to have it complete by the end of next week or weekend. Is that enough time?
