  • Skytrak + TGC Computer help

I am new to golf simulators and I am looking for a computer to run Skytrak + TGC. Will either of these systems work? How firm is the rule on only using the NVidia GTX 970 graphics card? Will others work as well?

    Thanks in advance!

The rule isn't 970 but recommend 970 or up. The laptops will run it but on lower settings. The gaming PC will do fine.

Thanks for your response. My thought of using a laptop is simply for the portability aspect. My sim will be in a detached garage and would like to take the sim and laptop inside when not in use.

Do you have a laptop already? I have a desktop that I run my software on, connected over wifi to the ST, then I just RDP into the desktop from my SurfacePro3. I don't get as good a refresh rate, but for a portable garage solution the trade offs are worth it. The tower is just MUCH faster at processing everything.

I have a laptop but it is a Macbook Pro and the Skytrak software won't run on it. Unfortunately I will have to purchase a new system to run the sim.

That is an awful gpu. Surprised they selling that as a "gaming rig."

If you are looking at amd video cards would stick with 480 and above. My rec for amd would be Vega 56. That should future proof for tcg 2 at max settings. If go with Nvidia either 1070 or 1070ti.
