Brand spankin' new to the site gentlemen so please go easy. I will be posting a lot as I get into this but if I can please get some input on whether or not my current laptop will run the set up I am planning on. I am planning on getting a Skytrak and running TGC software.
Below is a screenshot of the specs on my laptop. I know that the GTX 1060 is recommended as a graphics card. What I don't know is how other cards rate in comparison.
From what I can see it appears I have an Intell HD 4400? Is that correct or am I looking at the wrong thing? Sorry I am not s computer guy. I'm a gadget guy but I don't know the technical spec stuff. Anyway, if my laptop is not looking good to run Skytrak & TGC can someone comment on the computer that is on sale currently at Costco here:
My gut tells me to get a desktop PC instead since it can be configured the way I want it and upgraded in the future.... would you guys generally agree with that? If the answer is yes, I found the following (also through Costco) where you can basically build out a desktop PC with any specs you want.
Seems like a good idea but of course I have no idea what I am doing?
I don't want to write and excessively long post here so I will leave it at that. In summary, will my current laptop do a good job or if it will not (my favorite thing to say to people that know more than me....) "What would you do if you were in my shoes?"
Thanks in advance guys... appreciate your time and input... can't wait to get everything set up... WINTER IS HERE!
