    Input from "Computer Guys" before I buy this...

    Short and sweet... would love to hear from all you guys about this computer I am linking below to see if you guys can tell me if it's "The One" to go with. I am about to buy my sim set up which will include SkyTrak & TGC. I have done A LOT of reading to educate myself and this machine seems like a pretty good deal for what you are getting. Is it overkill? WIll it hold me for years to come? Is it missing anything that I will be disappointed I overlooked? or anything else?

          Its not overkill, it will run TGC very well.
          It will last you for a good few years with a bit of upgrading.... the memory and processor are fine (in my opinion for 24-36 months), the graphics card is Mid-end, but can be upgraded, graphic card architecture is released annually...next batch from NVIDIA is 11 series (VOLTA chipset) we are currently on PASCAL chipset.

          I say graphics card because in 2 years you might upgrade a projector to 4K ( when price drops)the processor and memory would handle it, but 1060 will be just OK, medium graphic level.

              vrpunk , thank you yes that is very helpful input! If I can ask a follow up... the following computer was another computer I was looking at... it has the 1070 video card but a slower chip. similar price point... do you prefer this one or the first one you commented on above?

                  Get the 1070 if it’s similar price HOWEVER, I disagree with VR above saying the 1060 is medium graphic level. The 1060 works wonders for TGC as I have the 6GB version. It runs everything on High at well over 60FPS so I know the 1070 will be even more than sufficient. TGC2 is actually way more efficient and runs smoother than TGC1 so you’re future proof to be honest as far as Sim software use is concerned. Now there are definitely more powerful cards out there but as far as TGC is concerned, you’ll not really benefit from spending extra money on them. You’ll be better served to get a really nice screen and projector instead.

                      Horses for courses, I am running a 1080ti (high end) hence the quote mid-end for games and virtual reality. But TGC is not really FPS intensive because of the lack of movement compared to a FPS.

                      So then all other things generally equal.... if it comes down to buying a computer with a better graphics card vs. a better processor chip.... go graphics card every time correct?

                      Also, is the general agreed upon that the R.O.I. on an upgrade from a 1060 to a 1070 is "worth it" if it's in the $100-$200 range to upgrade?

                          FYI, I have an earlier Acer Predator with a 970 graphics card and I love the 256 SSD "hard drive". I love it. . I would go with the ACER as it boots up in 30 seconds and has the better graphics card..

                              Definitely go SSD hardrive no matter what. As cheap as they are....it’s a no brainer. Personally, I wouldn’t spend “extra” for the 1070 at all but yes, if you can get a 1070 instead of the better processor for same price, I’d definitely do that for a Sim only PC. In a nutshell, a SIM PC really just needs a good video card and some average processor

                                  Search my other posts I mentioned SSD on steroids M2 NVM drives, that run at (if SSD is 60mph, M2s run at 320mph)....but the cost will start adding up.

                                        Ditto....10 second booting! Speed is awesome, all apps on it, and data on a cheaper SSD is becoming standard build until costs come down on larger M2s
