  • upgraded from windows 10 home to windows 10 pro

now my performance on both FSX and TGC has declined and frequently getting lag spikes. that is the ONLY thing I changed. I did it so I could have remote desktop and log into the computer from upstairs and work on making courses remotely instead of in my golf sim which doesn't have a comfortable place to sit and do it. Any ideas? i've googled and found nothing that would make the computer bog down like this? I have a 980ti for video card and it ran without EVER having lag spikes on anything before this "upgrade"

Drivers? Though it's not like you did a clean install so this shouldn't be an issue but I would take a look at this since its low hanging fruit.

      1. Most likely, upgrading your Windows overwrote your drivers. I would start by reinstalling the correct drivers. As a note: this happens pretty much every update on both my PC's. No, Microsoft, I don't want your crap drivers so let me keep AMD's.

      2. You can always open task manager and monitor the performance tab. This would help pinpoint if it's a hardware issue or an errant program. It can also give a hint if some hardware is failing.
