Another Specs Help Newbie Question

Hey all! So this forum is great! I have been lurking for a bit and ended up buying a Skytrack from bstancil (who was great to work with by the way and shipped fast). So I am in the process of piecing my sim together I have an understanding of most everything.... but I am a little week in the computer spec world. So I reaching out for some help.

I found a computer and I am wondering if it will work. I feel like it is right on the line of what I have read so far.

The computer will be dedicated to TGC and will not be using cameras for recording. I will be playing in the tournments so I will be shot recording(unsure if this matters). I the projector will be BenQ HT2150ST or similar unless someone here has experience with something better.

So here are the specs of the Lenovo:

I5 2400

Gtx 1050ti

12gb ddr3 ram

2tb seagate barracuda

300watt 80+ gold seasonic psu


Again the above specs only make a little bit of sense to me so if you need more info the guy seems willing to provide it.

The only thing I worry about with laptops is upgrading My personal opinion is to use a desktop much easier to upgrade in the future. When TGC 2019 comes out that graphics card may not be handle it but then again I don’t know for sure. Those specs are on the lower end of the spectrum for TGC based on their spec sheet. That projector is very nice I use the Benq TH671 and like it a little bit cheaper.

If a GTX 1060 "runs great" (as per the TGC requirements thread), the 1050 Ti will be be a solid card to use. It's much closer to the 1060 in performance than it is to the std 1050 (non-Ti).

Sounds very reasonable. The processor might not be the latest but it should be plenty (4 cores and 3.1 GHz) and as I understand it from that thread (no personal experience) TGC doesn't stress the CPU that much, or at least not nearly as much as it does the graphics card. And GTX 1050 Ti's go for around $180+ by themselves.
