  • PC to monitor connection

Planning to mount a TV on the left side of my simulator with the gaming PC to the right, about 10 feet away from TV. I’m lefty but will be playing with righties. Have skytrak with netreturn pro and leaning away from impact screen for now.

Thoughts or recommendations to view the PC on screen? I’m considering a long HDMI cable (either around or under my matt/net), wireless HDMI, apple tv/roku, or a mirroring ready smart tv. Anyone have experience with these options? Haven’t bought the TV yet so have flexibility. PC new running latest Windows.

    Thanks!

Just go with the standard HDMI cable. It's the only thing that will give reliable up to 4k 60Hz transmission of video and you'll never need to mess with it. It's difficult to get "headless" windows machines to work during Windows Updates or other glitches so you'd have to have a wired monitor anyway.

Wireless HDMI can usually only do 30fps or worse. Apple TV is also 30fps, but only works reliably from iOS/MacBooks. Mirroring ready smart TVs means you're at the mercy of your TV company to implement software correctly, so it could break or change with any update on either end.

If you can find good reviews and the cable meets all your needs (resolution, frame rate, hdcp compliance), I'd try looking into a flat hdmi cable and running it under the mat. Shouldn't be noticeable and is a good compromise.
