    eGPU

Has anyone used a setup with a laptop and eGPU? I just ordered my new work laptop (dell XPS 15 9570). It has a 6-core i7, 16GB ram and a GTX 1050 (4 GB dedicated memory)

packs a good punch but was wondering if I’d be better off getting an eGPU to take advantage of the thunderbolt port. Maybe that could help dissipate some heat as well if the laptop isn’t doing the graphical processing?

I have a GC2 running JNPG and FSX. Was considering upgrading to FSX 2018 though

Again, question isn’t if my machine will work as is, it’s if anyone has had success with an eGPU

    thanks!

I have an older Dell XPS 15 9550 that I use to run TGC with a Skytrak. It would get VERY hot and crash 10 holes into a round. Added an eGPU via the thunderbolt port and now it's silent and stable. https://egpu.io is a great resource. I ended up getting a Sonnet Breakaway 550 with a Radeon RX580. It took only took about 15 minutes to get up and running.
