  • GTX 1060 fps and display setting

I finally upgraded my PC with a GTX 1060 ASUS with 6 GB. I was so excited to try it, but when I used for the first time, putting setting to the maximum, the fps was so low (10/15 fps).
I read that with this graphic card, I can put to the maximum the display setting, with no problem in fps.
So my question is: which is the best setting that I can achieve with this GTX.
I tried to change this option but without result.

Now I have the settings in the photo.
Let me know. Thanks in advance!

I'd set Object Detail to 3. That setting is like a multiplier so even 1 notch can have drastic effect. What course were you playing? I know some courses are much more taxing than others.

I thought I read somewhere on this forum that object detail was pretty useless being higher than 2. What fps do you get with object detail on 1 or 2? I got the same card and have object detail at 1 and everything else maxed out and it runs smooth.

I also have a 1060 6gb card and I get slowdown on some courses in TGC1. Good news is I have maxed out all graphics settings in the Alpha of TGC 2019 in 24 rounds so far on different courses and have not seen even one stutter.

This is true 2019 runs a lot better than. Do you see a stutter when the ball lips out or on putts that catch a piece of the hole but race on past when putting? That's the only time I have seen any kind of slowdown.

I haven't really noticed any slowdown at all. I put the graphics detail at 200% and everything else on Max also and it seems to be running great.

I have this configuration! Just playing the tournament this week at riviera I obtain about 30 FPS.
It is the same FPS I obtained with my old hd 6970 2gb.
          how is it possibile?

Riviera is graphically demanding. I have an 9th gen I7 processor, rtx2080 and I had to lower object detail to 2 to get better fps. Try loading up like Pebble Beach and crank graphics all the way I bet you will have better results. What I have noticed is I have to change my settings based on what course I am playing. 90% of the courses I can run max graphics but courses with a ton of trees I run into issues so I have to reduce graphics. From reading the 2019 alpha thread it seems 2019 runs alot smoother.

Have you updated you graphics driver using the latest version from Nvidia's website ? Make sure you uninstall any ATI/AMD Driver from your old card there might be some conflict there.

Another thing i would try if you get good fps with everything on low is to only change 1-2 settings on high at a time to figure out which one is causing problem.

Also what CPU do you have ? Doubtful but maybe your cpu is the bottle neck.

Move your tree count down to like 1000 and the distance to 700. Try that for a test.
