  • Swing Video Camera Advice

Hello. I am looking to possibly replace some super old FireWire pointgrey cameras I have been using as swing analysis cameras in my garage. I have been using them along with motionview software but they don’t jive well with that program or any other for that matter they are so old. Would the camera I uploaded info on here do a good job for swing analysis as well as work with motionview or other decent software? If not any other recommendations would be great as well. I don’t need it to be super fancy, I think my Pointgreys are 60fps and that allows me to see plenty.

I ordered a similar camera (same sensor) from ebay to use with FSX 2018. I think it should work very well. I should have mine within the next week or so

You will need a fair amount of light to get higher speeds, I use a couple photo led floods. You will get flicker but would have to go to much more expensive lighting to avoid that

The camera came in and I am very satisfied with it. The resolution isn't the best but I am getting 260 fps in FSX 2018 and I am finally able to see my hands and release through impact rather than just a blur. Overall very nice slow motion video for a very reasonable price.

Do you have the camera model and do you need a lot of light?
