Yes thats definitely overkill imo. I just bought a new gaming pc for simulator and gaming purposes and found these 4 pc deals that are very well priced and will be able to play many if not most games in 4k 60 fps which means that it will be more than enough for any TGC19 in 1080p. These pc's are very powerful today and will remain powerful enough to run games in high settings for years to come. It also will save you on sales tax buying online, they all have good return policies too. That said the holiday sales are season is coming up and there might be better deals in the future. Also these prices change frequently so these links might not have great deals shortly.

This is the most powerful of the 4 but only has 500 gb of storage, which is enough for many but not all. It's also very easy to add more storage if you need it. It doesn't come preloaded with windows, unless you want it to in which case you can overpay them for that. If you don't you can just buy a windows license for $20 with a quick google search. Very powerful AMD based pc, debatably as powerful as the first one but it lacks the M.2/PCI-E SSD Card, which is just very fast storage. Not really needed but would be nice. But what it lacks in storage speed it makes up for in storage capacity as it has 1.5 tb.

I agree with Jerry3. That is all overkill. When I start building my sim again I am going to buy a miniPC (i7 chips) with a 32" Elo Touchscreen monitor as well as a 1080P projector. Any sim software out there right now will not display in 4K anyway.

tapefighter I actually almost bought that one myself because the 1080ti and 8700 are almost worth that price alone, with those components alone it makes a very powerful computer. The reason why I didn't is because...

- Thermal performance of the case is really bad
- Motherboard is bad
- Memory is bad
- Power supply isn't great
- Overpowered pc's are poorly assembled
- Overpowered pc's often times ship the wrong components
- Sometime the pc won't even boot
- QC issues in general

That said I think that if they ship you the right stuff and the computer boots and everything functions, most likely you'd be pretty pleased with the system for the price. Most people won't notice the the thermal throttling or the fact the memory or storage isn't very fast, and the quality of assembly doesn't matter either to most. Also even if something does go wrong you can always return it.

I bought this pc for my son. It was supposed to arrive yesterday, but shipping was delayed, so I don't have any experience with it yet. But from my research on it, the power supply is actually pretty good (It is a Great Wall, who manufactures power supplies for many of the other brands including Corsair). Most of the reviews reference another specific review in which a well known reviewer had purchased this pc, but received the wrong model (a lower end model) which he ended up doing the review on. Many of the people who actually reviewed the higher end pc (this one) did not have the same build/quality control issues. Also, the motherboard is most likely not the greatest, but of little consequence if you don't plan on tweaking components, the thermal issues can be improved by adding nylon spacers to the front panel to improve airflow, and the memory is definitely slow, but that is a cheap and easy swap even if you are not familiar with building computers.

So would slow memory affect TGC '19 performance?

Also, I missed that there's no Bluetooth. I guess I can add a dongle for the Xbox controller I plan on using; or air keyboard.

@tapefigher bbjr Yes I've heard of a few ways to alleviate the thermal performance issues, that being one of them. From what I've heard the best way would probably be to entirely remove the front panel, but if you want to keep the aesthetic then the spacer would be a good option. Also heard that the great wall power supply is pretty decent, but I don't think it would be anyone's first choice.

It seems like most pc manfactures (HP, Dell, Walmart etc) alway cheap out on memory, power supply, motherboard, storage, case thermal performance, but they often have a good gpu and cpu. In the end it seems good enough, but improvements can definitely be made if you want.

I wouldn't change the memory unless you don't like the way the system is performing, replacing 32 gb of ram would be more than $100, so not really expensive but not cheap imo.
