  • Computer question - Skytrak

I just purchased a Skytrak and now I need to purchase a computer.
Does using an Ipad take away anything from the game where a computer is better?
I debating on buying an Ipad or a computer, thoughts?
Was thinking computer, but the Ipad would be much easier for me, but I dont want the game to be slower or anything.
If I go with a computer, are there store bought computers at a decent price that can handle the simulator?
Thank you in advance and sorry for the newbie questions...

the iPad is not going to take a way anything, especially if you are just starting out. But if you are aiming to build into a simulation setup and use Skytrak to play TGC or E6, you will need to buy/build a computer.

If you go with a computer, what is your budget? Do you already have peripherals (TV/monitor, Mouse, Keyboard, projector etc)?

That answered that question, Ipad is out!
Don't have a budget, I will buy what is needed to make the game work well, but the computer will be out in my garage and its sole purpose will be for Skytrak. I've spent a lot already so just trying to keep cost down some.
I do have a mouse, keyboard, and monitor.
I appreciate your help and I love to shoot me some skeet too!

You definitely want a PC if you want to play E6 or TGC. I have played the WGT on the ipad with my skytrak, it doesn't compare to TGC. If you have an iPad or iPhone you can use the skytrak app if you take it to the range.

        Skeet,
I am projecting onto a screen. I have messed with computers in the past, I think I could handle it all though I am not apposed to buying a computer either.
Also, where do you get the computer specs needed? It doesnt mention anything about a graphic card on their website..?

What if you are just playing with Improvement Plan software and WGT? Will an iPad be sufficient? Do you need a Pro? I'd rather avoid a keyboard, mouse etc.

As far as I know you can't even play the WGT apart from an iPad. It's iOS only. I used a standard iPad (the 2018 version) and it ran just fine. It works great for the range too and you can even get a lightning to HDMI adapter and connect it to a projector if you like. I had a PC but just used my iPad most of the time since it was less hassle.

Now WGT is far inferior to better simulator software which will require a PC, so it may not satisfy you for long. It's certainly cheaper, however.
