Camera Options for your Home Sim

Not sure where the best place is to post this after searching on the forum....so will go with Here unless anyone believes there is a more obvious sub-forum.

i have built my indoor sim; but as most of you will realise ... it is never finished!

I am keen to get a side facing and forward facing ( behind me) camera to help record swing. Doesn’t need to be anything super fancy, but open to all options.... have seen some people post videos on here with TGC games etc ...

any suggestions welcome....

If you want to replay swing then you need at least 120FPS global shutter cams to avoid motion blur. The most affordable version is going to be monochrome cams such as these guys.. the color version requires MUCH more light. Most folks find they do not have adequate lighting in their sim room for color (otherwise it washes out their projector image).

The downside is these ship from China. It used to take 14 days but it seems like a bunch of us ordering them have expedited their shipping so its only 5-7 days o.O

Do you buy separate software to record; slow motion replay etc... or do they come with any software that works?

looks cool with all the analysis potential, and even at 60fps....but $300+. Other reviews show working inside as well but min 6-7ft from ball needed.)

Most people use free software such as Kinovea or within OBS Studio there is a slow motion replay plugin OBS Replay.

Swing Catalyst is very slick software but its too expensive for most. Personally I use FSX 2018 with my GC2 since it has replay baked into the driving range.

I also have fsx2018; so if I get the cameras you mentioned - these can be viewed ... and in slo mo via fsx 2018??

yes! I only have 1 camera running right now I haven't really poked around for the 2nd one I'll look later today. But you can have it do a replay for X seconds after every swing and they have presets like 25% 50% 100% speed. You can have it repeat or run once, lots of settings to play with.
