PC recommendation

Hi Forum members, I'm a newbie here and working on a GCQuad purchase. I am looking for recommendations on a laptop PC that can run FSX2018 (and 2020 when released) that will allow me to HDMI output to a 50-60" TV display for ball flight and use the laptop display for application control. I have been given the following criteria by the Foresight sales rep.

I know very little about PC's so looking for an affordable solution that will allow premium results if that is possible.

IMPORTANT: FSX 2018 Requires a computer running the following specifications:
Operating System	Windows 7 or greater (64 Bit Required) Works well with Win 8.1, & 10.
Processor Speed	Min Spec: Intel i5 or i7 processors (AMD processors not recommended)
Recommended: 8th / 9th generation i5 or i7 processor
Memory	Min Spec: 8GB system memory
Recommended: 16GB for best performance (Required for Swing Camera Use)
Video Card	Min Spec: Nvidia GTX 1050 ti or greater (AMD GPUs not supported)
Recommended: GTX 1060, GTX 1070, RTX 2060 Premium: RTX 2070, RTX 2080

What would you suggest is an acceptable budget for the PC? I run an RTX2070 and its overkill for my applications (TGC2019) I have run it in 4K and it does it without issue as well. You could step it down to a 2060Super or KO.

Really it all comes down to what you want to spend.Also, does it have to be a Laptop? A desktop will generally be cheaper, and will have upgrade paths in the future should you want to upgrade to a better graphics card.

Skeeter, I was hoping to spend less than $1k. It’s only for running FSX18 and eventually 2020. Needs to output to a 55” lcd via hdmi. Prefer a laptop for portability and storage as the sim will be in my garage and while will be nearly year round. I do need to be able to pack it up.

Ah... OK... So, excuse me for saying this but, you are purchasing a Quad correct? There is a significant amount of money invested in that hardware alone. I would highly recommend upgrading your budget and also recommend not going with a laptop. I did a little looking around last night just at out of the box laptops and systems. Acer Predator Helios 300 has a 1660ti is $1,200. That GPU is going to do just OK with your setup... However, if it was my money and assuming I wouldn't build a PC. There are far better purchases out there. A good example is NZXT:

This computer has a 2070 Super in it, which will get you to 4K no problem. Also Its $1499. That computer is a significant upgrade in the GPU department and would enable you to output 4K no issue and likely on multiple displays. One thing you need to check is if an AMD CPU is compatible. I saw from your specs it says that it cannot use an AMD GPU... I took a cursory glance on their website and it does not state that you can't use an AMD CPU, but just check.

If you were concerned with portability, NZXT also has the H1 which is $2K but is super small form factor. Unfortunately out of stock right now, but basically takes the other Streaming computer they have and puts it into a Micro-ATX chassis. Very small, very cool.
