Hi, I am currently planning my golf sim to include either the GCHAWK or GCQUAD with the FSX2018 (or the latest) software. I will build to suit a computer which will be dedicated to the golf Sim. I am looking for recommended specifications to get the maximum benefits of the software and sim experience. As such, I am not looking at minimum specifications rather the recommended ones for the best experience.

Anyone? I see one can purchase a computer from Foresight but I am guessing I can put together something much more capable for less. Only downside would be the sftware is not pre-installed. I would appreciate any input here.

Jason - I pony'd up and just bought the laptop with FSX 18 installed. Probably paid more that way but did not want to mess with it. You may save $100 or $200 by doing it yourself but when your investment into the Quad or Hawk arent you really just adding work? Easier for them to support since it is their gear too. I am sure other may disagree but that was the route I went as it was just easy. Downside it took 2 1/2 to 3 weeks for everything to show up so plan ahead.Comment

I had a computer built a number of years ago by a local shop and saved. Recently when upgrading to e6 Connect demo and Virtual Golf 2.0 I just upgraded the power supply and graphics card and I am good to go with a fully functional system again. My old system could have run e6 Connect from what I was told, but now I am good for a few more years.
I would suggest looking for a local store that builds computers, as I have found you get a better system and also a local place that will fix their work should something go wrong.Comment

Depends, FSX2018 will run great with an i7, 16GB RAM and GTX1070 in 1080p. If you want to do 4K you can get by with the 1070 but you may get some slow fps on occasion.Comment

Operating System: Windows 7 or greater (64 Bit Required) Works well with Win 8.1, & 10.
Processor: Min Spec: Intel i5 or i7 processors (AMD processors not recommended)
Memory: Min Spec: 8GB system memory Recommended: 16GB for best performance
Video Card: Min Spec: Nvidia GTX 1050 ti or greater (AMD GPUs not supported) Recommended: GTX 1060, 1660 or 1070, RTX 2060 Premium: RTX 2070 or 2080

So just to close the loop I went with the following config to run FSX2020 (and hopefully E6 in the very near future) off of the GCQuad:- 9th Gen Intel® Core™ i9-9900K with vPro™ (3.60GHz, up to 5.0GHz with Turbo Boost, 16MB Cache)
- GB DDR4 2666MHz (2 x 16GB)
- 1TB 7200 RPM + 1TB SSD PCIe
- NVIDIA® GeForce® RTX 2080 Super 8GB
- WiFi Wireless LAN Adapters: 802.11 AC (2 x 2) + Bluetooth® 4.2
- Windows 10 Home 64

I think the above spec is more than sufficient for both! Sounds like the bottle neck on e6 Connect will be the inability of it to play rounds online as it seems to keep crashing...Comment
