Hello all,

I have a laptop that I was planning on using for the simulator software, and truthfully, I hadn't given much thought to if it would be sufficient to even work, until I started digging around here. Please let me know if you have feedback. I'm interested to know if it'll even just work consistently, even if it means a lower quality picture.

Make: Dell Latitude E7470

OS: Windows 10 64 bit

Processor: Intel i7 6600U CPU @ 2.6GHz (4CPUs),

Memory: 8 GB RAM

Graphics: Intel(R) HD Graphics 520

DirectX: Version 12

Network: Verizon- Will be directly connected to a WiFi range extender

Hard Drive: 200 GB available space

Sound Card: No clue

I'm not sure of the power.

It will depend on what type of launch monitor and software you plan to be using. If you'll be using a Skytrak, the Skytrak website lists all of the computer specs that are required for each of the supported sim softwares.

3on3 is correct, it will depend on what software you’re trying to run. If it’s just the Skytrak app, I think you will be fine. If it’s something like TGC, I don’t think your graphics card will be enough

Thanks, guys. I am waiting on the Mevo+. I would like to upgrade to either TGC2019 or E6 down the road. When you say it's not enough, do you mean it's not enough to optimize the quality of the software, or it flat out won't work at all?

If it's not enough, is there a way to upgrade my current PC to get it there, or is that not possible/cost effective?

I believe the graphics cards for most laptops are integrated, which means you cannot switch them out for a better one. Desktop computers make it easier to switch graphics cards in and out because the cards are usually not integrated on desktops.


These are the minimum and recommended specs for TGC2019 from the Skytrak website. My guess is that these would be consistent for any type of launch monitor but perhaps someone knows if it varies at all between units for some reason.
