  • Computer Build for Foresight

I'm posting this for my friend who is doing a computer build. He has a Foresight. Here's the build they've suggested for him and I'm hoping you folks will have some ideas:

    Razer Blade 15 Base Edition - OLED 4k 60hz - GeForce RTX 2020 Max-Q-Mercury
    - 10th Gen Initel Core i7-10750 6 Core (2.6GHHz/5.0GHz)
    - Windows 10 Home
    - 15.6 OEG 4k 60Hz, 100% DCI-P3, factory calibrated
    - NVIDIA GEForce RTX 2070 with Max-Q (8GB GDDR6 VRAM) Studio Edition
    - 512GB SSD (M.2 NVMe)
    - 16GB Dual-Channel (8GB x 2) DDR4-2933MH
    - Single Zone RGB powered by Rzer Chroma

    Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks!

I think Nvidia will be coming out with new GPUs in the next month or so. Might be worth a wait for two reasons. He could go for a better card or buy last years card for less. Also, why not go for a 2070 super if you go the route suggested. The 2070 is two years old now and was replaced last year with a pretty good upgrade In The super line up (almost the equivalent of a 2080).

Do they really need a 4K monitor?

That's a $2,100 laptop. A lot of the cost is going into a 4K OLED screen, which if this is the only thing he's using it for, is overkill. I think there's many other options out there in the $1,500 range that would work just fine.
