Looking for a camera 240 fps or greater for face on and downline analysis. Does anyone have recommendations on this and software to analyze the video?

If you haven’t already seen them there are a couple threads that might be helpful.
Every few months there's a new thread asking what hardware and software is available to record our golf swings. The usual suspects get discussed from cheap to

Ultimately all comes down to how much $$$ you're willing to spend. I opted to get the IDS3140's and have been very pleased...but they aren't cheap. I use SwingCatalyst as the software...hate the recurring charge but it's a really solid product. You'll also need to make sure you have a computer powerful enough to handle the amount of data cameras that can do 240 fps will spit off.
Good luck!

One I bought from 1st Vision (they're the only dealer in the US, it seems) -- I think they may have been recently acquired and go under a different name. The rep's name is elsewhere on this board -- Hospod I believe? The other I bought from a post in this forum where a guy was selling some stuff and got it for half off.

I was going to post this today. I am using 2 cameras ( 2 OV2710's) with kinovea version 0.9.3 beta and i am getting motion blur. it is my understanding that the blurring is due to shutter speed and i haven't found a way to adjust the shutter speed with the OV2710, unless i am missing something. so i am looking for a new camera to replace these. any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am currently trying a few different camera options. One is the IDS 3140 Rev. 2. While it is a great camera I am getting shaft blur at downswing & impact. Trying to work on lighting, etc. to improve this with some success. I am also working with a China brand (Kayeton - 120 fps color) but using a different lens. The lens that comes with the Kayeton camera is far too dark with way too much blur, but using a higher quality lens seems to improve things drastically. I am waiting on two more lenses to arrive to try different configurations. I'd gladly post my results in a few weeks. FYI: I believe IDS has since updated their software - now limiting the 3140 Rev. 2 model to 170fps (from 224 fps). Not sure why - possible overheating issue as my camera gets crazy hot at 170fps!??

To the extent it's helpful -- here's what I've been able to achieve with my 3140's Rev 2 -- https://youtu.be/9VKhsMzKH54

Sorry was on vacation for a few days. It"s a bit deceptive on the lighting -- I have 4 extra lights installed directly above the hitting area specifically to help provide enough lighting for video. The lens is TAM-M12VM412ASIR. Good luck!

I honestly don't know the brand -- but they are four recessed adjustable lights. I asked the contractor to put in something that put out at least 1000 lumens each. Those, plus the pot lights already in the room, seem to provide enough light. Good luck!
