  • Wifi extender for garage

Just discovered that Wifi signal is very low(no signal) in my garage. Anybody using an Wifi extender or booster ?

This one looks like it can work but needs to be wired to the router:

TP-Link Omada AC1350 Gigabit Ceiling Mount Wireless Access Point

    Thanks

I used this when I had my sim in a detached garage and it worked great. My garage was about 75' away from our house and I got a great signal from the extender.

I tried an extender at first but still wasn't getting a good enough signal. I ended up buying a mesh wifi system and haven't had any issues since. There are a ton of options but HERE is the one I bought.

The mesh wifi looks interesting, how many do you have: one wired to the router and a second in the garage ? Or just outside the garage ? I have an attached garage and I think the low wifi signal is mostly because of the walls

I second the mesh system recommendation. I have Google mesh myself. Extenders are a headache and more often than not a hit r miss solution.

I have Google wifi as well and note that they just put out this pet year a new one called Google nest wifi (I believe) that is even better. I am holding out upgrading my google wifi though until they also offer a unit that can do wifi 6.

cchitanu I have three nodes. One in the basement hooked up directly to the router. One on the main level and finally one in my detached garage where my sim is located. If your signal is weak with just two just add a third. Good luck!
