  • E6 with MacBook Pro on Parallels Virtual Machine

Sorry if I missed this somewhere, I searched before posting but may have missed it. Has anyone had success running this way? I don’t have any PC gaming experience so I don’t know about the graphics cards and DX11 and all that stuff. I have a 2019 MacBook Pro and attached a photo of the specs. Currently awaiting my skytrak and now I’m researching software options. Thanks!

That should run fine. I was running a 2017 MBP with both slightly lower specs that your and it ran both E6 and TGC2019 fine. I was running the trial of E6 so only tried out on one course. I ended up going with TGC in order to design my own courses and found that the MBP struggled a bit in the designer (it was just a little too slow), so I later ended up getting a gaming laptop.

I probably had a few posts about this experience but one of them is here:

Hi, I started the free trial of E6 with iOS and thought it seemed ok although the graphics on iOS aren't great. Since I have all Macs, I thought about trying E6 out with Bootcamp. It all starts ok with download and setup but as soon as I try to select SkyTrak as the monitor, it crashes once and then will never even startup

Hey thanks for your response. I did come across your post about Bootcamp but did you end up going with a virtual setup instead? I don’t really want to partition and install a full copy of windows

I started the whole process with Parallels as I could sign up for a free trial for a couple of weeks or so. I tried installing E6 and kept having some issues getting it installed. Thinking that it was an issue with Parallels, I ended up partitioning the the HD and buying a license for Windows. I still had issues installing so I contacted service from E6 and realized that I needed to install something else. Once that was installed, it all worked fine. I never actually tried it on Parallels but I believe that it should still work.

Can I ask what else you had to install to get it to work?
