  • Using OnTopReplica to watch PIP

Sorry to beat a dead horse, just wondering if anyone is using OTR the way I am. I am using it to watch the DirecTV viewer in PIP. However, while I can get it up and running in OTR, when I tab back over to TGC2019, the picture in picture always freezes. I'm not sure if this is a common occurrence? Or is it perhaps because my laptop may be using the Intel video card instead of the NVIDIA card, or if my computer simply can't handle running both? I have 16GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 8GB GDDR6 with Max-Q Design. Other specs include a 1TB SSD, and 9th Generation Intel Core i7-9750H (6-Core, 12MB Cache, up to 4.5GHz w/ Turbo Boost). Not sure how to force the use of the NVIDIA, or how to optimize this if my system is robust enough to handle both.

    Any advice/suggestions?

    Thanks!!!

Anyone have advice on the NVIDIA app to get optimum performance for this situation?

Not sure if you ever figured this out. What I have found is if I minimize the window sourcing the OTR stream, the OTR window feed freezes on my projected image. If I have the source window open on another display, it works fine. Tabing over shouldn’t minimize it though, so not sure that fits your problem..... maybe you’re somehow minimizing it?

Basically, I open the stream in browser window and hide it behind ignite on a secondary display after setting up the OTR.

Not sure it matters, but I have TGC2019 only open on my projector window vs duplicating primary screen and projector. As such the window sourcing OTR is on a different display vs where I have the OTR placed. Curious if there is an issue running OTR on the same display as it’s source window?

i know many duplicate their primary display and projector, but that caused performance issues for me. My projector is 4K but my dual monitors are 1440. I’m still tweaking things, but it seemed when I duplicated 1 and 3 (projector) Windows forced both to lowest common denominator (1440).

I duplicate my monitor and projector. OTR does not work like it used to. It doesn’t work regardless if you minimize the source window or not, at least not for me.

I don't minimize the window, but I'm not sure about the rest. My laptop screen and projector screen are the same. Do you think there was a change in OTR, or a change in Windows OS or in all the web based streaming services that caused this to happen?
