  • HDMI Connections for Multiple Displays

So I am a relative computer moron. I admit it. So need some help understanding the best connection method for the following set up:

Assume you have a 4K projector to screen. On the wall, you have mounted a flat screen 4K TV. Below the TV, you have your computer stand with a nice computer and a RTX 3080 graphics card, and you have a small monitor sitting on the stand with your keyboard and mouse. So in effect, three displays.

From my review, the RTX 3080 has one HDMI 2.1 port.

If you want to set up a dual display where the projector will be showing the sim image, and the flat screen TV will show the ball and/or club data from your swing (along with swing camera images), and you want the small computer monitor to "mirror" what is on the flat screen TV, what kind of connection method do you use for each of these three displays? An HDMI splitter? Or use the other ports on the back of the computer?

    Thanks.

Check to see if it has some display ports. They look similar to HDMI ports, but slight different. If it does have some display ports, you can leverage them if your projector, tv, or monitor accepts display ports. If not, you can buy display ports to HDMI adapters from amazon, ebay, monoprice, and etc.

Some desktop video cards have hdmi and display ports. If you have a laptop, your options might be limited.

Ah, Ok. So for example, if the RTX 3080 has one HDMI 2.1 port, and 3 DisplayPort 1.4a, I would have:

An HDMI cable going from computer to projector
Two HDMI cables, using DisplayPort 1.4a adapters, running each to the TV and to the computer monitor

I think that is what you are saying. Thx.

StalefishFS3 can you please share a simple sketch/diagram of what ports are on what equipment and how your set up is wired together? I too am not quite on point in understanding this subject matter and plan to build a dedicated sim pc tower so am keen to understand how many of which ports will be required (I can’t change the number of monitor, projector etc ports and hence knowing when I would or would not need HDMI splitters for instance will help!)

Maybe not on day1 but in future I may add face-on and down-the-line cameras so idea is to future proof what I can for any base equipment like the pc tower

What is the ideal base setup for new gaming pc if requiring multiple Ethernet ports, display ports, USB 3.2 gen q/ gen 2 ports etc.?

Modelling this question on Uneekor + projector + screen/touchscreen but trying to future proof it if I want to add cameras and additional monitor etc. in the future....I know, how long is a piece of string!

I can see the specs provided from a Uneekor or TGC2019 perspective but I am reading that a few posters have added additions like cameras, voiceattack, speakers, OnTopReplica, etc. I hope to add to base pc over time as budget allows.

My main use of sim set up would be for swing analysis/game improvement and double up for home theatre use occasionally. I don’t have experience of online gaming so not sure of this as yet.

It all depends on your needs, time, budget, DIY, pay someone, and etc. Based on what you have stated, took 5 min to build this diagram for you.

                  14MPH,

Gotkimchi has the diagram. The only thing that I would add to this diagram is a flat screen TV on the wall, which would connect via HDMI or a DisplayPort/HDMI adapter. I am in the very beginning of a new house build and I am trying to get the wiring down pat. I am also a big fan of having everything hard wired that can be hardwired.
