  • Costco Lenova Desktop on Sale - i5 ok for TGC 2019?

Saw this desktop on sale at Costco. Looks like it hits all of the recommended specs except for processor (i5 instead of i7), but graphics card looks like it is plenty. Anyone run TGC 2019 on i5? Is i5 vs. i7 going to make much of a difference? https://www.costco.com/lenovo-legion...100684655.html

    Thanks!

The 1660 Super is great for 1080P gaming. For higher resolution (4k/2k) gaming you may need a better Video card. If you look at benchmarks the video performance and frame rate has much more to do with the GPU than CPU.

I have the computer from your link above but am running E6 Connect at 1600x1200 4:3 resolution. It does run it very smoothly. It is a great and budget friendly option for anyone using a 1080P projector. It also has 16GB Ram and at $699 (on sale) is an unbeatable value.

Good to know, thank you! Any idea if you could take out the 1660 super and upgrade it to a 1080 to run 4k?

You can but you would probably want a new power supply also. At that point you may just want to start with a different system with a 2060 super or better. I should say this will run 4k games as is but they may get choppy or run at less then 30 fps. This is a Costco item so you could always try it out and return it if you don't like it.
