  • Consensus on PC for TGC / E6

Hi All. I just put my golf sim room together this weekend and have thoroughly enjoyed my Skytrak and the practice range. Now I'd like to look into purchasing an appropriate desktop PC for either TGC or E6. I know the recommended specs are on ST's website and I've looked at them already, but is there a general consensus on a desktop set-up that is more than adequate for either of these sims and a place to purchase from? I've looked through quite a few posts here and I see people with Dell, Lenovo, HP, Alienware, etc.

I don't really have a max budget, but I'm looking for a system I won't have to upgrade anytime soon, but I also don't want to overpay for what I'm purchasing. I'm not planning on going 4k or adding any cameras anytime soon. I used to build PC's way back in the day, but haven't done so in 20 years, so I don't even know where to start nowadays. Are there any recommended and trusted websites to purchase from? I don't mind building one, but would prefer to buy pre-config'd if possible.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Any good gaming pc with the recommended specs would work just fine. The brands you listed are all good brands. Prebuilts are definitely the way to go right now - graphics cards are hard to come and if you do find one you’ll prob end up paying an arm and leg for one.

I have a rtx2070 and fsx2020 runs just fine on it.

Had good experience with CyberPower for kids gaming computer. Was able to get a RTX3080 back in January.

I bought a Dell G7 laptop RTX 2080 SMQ to run TGC 3019 and FSX 2020. I have ran both at same time to compare range results. I run TGC 2019 with full graphics in 4K no problem.

I checked with CyberPower, IBuyPower, ASUS and a few other smaller online places and they all had the same problem: graphics cards on backorder 3-6 weeks or longer. So I checked with the big companies and HP was too expensive, but, like you, I found a good deal with Dell. Mine is a G5 tower with a RTX 2060 in it and everything else above the recommended specs by TGC, as that is what I will be using too. Hoping to get it this week...
