Just wondering if anyone has seen any deals lately on gaming computers that will work with TGC/skytrak. I’m sure I’ll find one but y’all seem to be deal hounds! Just curious if any have recently popped up.

True "Deals" are pretty tough to find these days - read through the section and you will understand why. I would say decide on the specs you are looking for, then find one which meets those specs. There are plenty of computers avail which should meet your needs. Desktop, Intel i5 Min (i7+ Better), Min 8GB RAM (Min 16GB better), Min TB Hard Drive, Min GTX1060/1080 or better (Stick with NVidia), Windows 10. Anything at or beyond this and you should be just fine (unless you want 4K resolution or something custom). YMMV.Last edited by jasonreg; 05-06-2021, 01:11 PM.

No such thing as deals right now. The Chip shortage and the increased demand for GPU's has basically made computers with any relatively newer Chipsets and GPU's worth way more than they should be. Example. I run an MSI 8GB OC RTX 2070 in my Computer. I bought that for $520 in 2019... You can't even buy that card now at a retailer and used ones are going for $1,200+ right now. That's insanity.

TGC doesn't need much of a CPU. The GPU is what's really important and either of those is more than sufficient.Originally posted by Gotkimchi View PostCPU comparison between the two: https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compar...2657vsm1032976

Exactly, most gaming laptops as well as desktops, in order to get a decent GPU, they are going to pair it with some decent CPU. Your other option is to build your own, however, because of the chip shortage, components are hard to come by.

At least one year for normal consumers to be able to buy singular components from retailers without markups. Right now the prioritization for AMD, and NVidia is to get those gpu's and CPU's into the hands of system integrators and pre-builders (They have contracts with them) as for getting them to retailers like NewEgg, BestBuy, Microcenter, etc, sure they will get some, but Bots are going to end up securing them before any normal person does.
