Battery consumption for Laptop computers

Hi,

I recently bought a gaming laptop, and the battery level would decrease very fast with TGC2019 while not using the power cable.
Is it like the same for you guys?

I prefer not to use a power cable either for my laptop and for Mevo+, if I can based on my environment, since
the setup is not permanent, and I will setup the golf nets, laptop, and LM every time I need to play.

Mevo+ would last like 90minutes to 2hours, where my laptop would last like in only an hour or so.
At least I was expecting my laptop to last as par with Mevo+'s lifetime.

When I stay at TGC2019's home screen and not doing anything, my gtx1660ti card is still showing that is using 50% of processing power,
and the temperature goes to around 80 degrees celsius according to the utility which came with the laptop.

My laptop is a Acer Nitro 5 AN517-52 model which runs TGC very nicely, but only the consumption of battery bugs me now.
This laptop touts that 10 hours of battery life for standard use. But if I see the reviews for gaming, in those cases where
used for very intensive games, only lasts for an hour. That is understandable, but hey is TGC2019 made that graphically intensive?
It is not in the AAA category is it?

If I tweak the graphic components in TGC, will that make much difference?
I am going to try that, but I welcome your advices and thoughts as well.

I have a 6 month old Dell G7 with RTX 2080 SMQ. Yes, TGC 2019 makes the processor work hard and consumes the battery quickly. Battery life is not great just browsing the web. Need to keep a cord near by! My setup is in my garage and relatively permanent, but I haul my laptop out and make the connections including power cord each time.

Thank you for showing me your case.
I better give up on battery then. Fortunately I have a power plug relatively close to my setup.
Tweaked graphics setup a bit, but it didn't change that much between high and low.

Unfortunately as soon as any application uses the dedicated GPU it will chew through the battery. I am lucky if I get 45 minutes on battery with TGC. You can check what applications are using the GPU in nvidia control panel, make sure that TGC is the only thing using it , you may get a bit a bit more runtime if you force other apps to use the integrated GPU.

If you're dead set on not plugging in then get a battery extender. Look up the mah of your current battery and get an extender which has a multiple of this which will satisfy your run time requirements.

I have a Dell gaming laptop and if I try to run TGC without the battery, the video is very choppy (that is running in 4K through my monitor though). For me, that makes running wireless not an option.

Don't know if this helps,

I use an ipad pro and windows remote desktop.

That way I can be wireless, have a touch screen and small $6 keyboard for ipad or connect a wireless controller like xbox 360 remote via bluetooth.

Outside the ipad screen coating helps with glare, would'nt see anything on my laptop.

Bought laptop for portablity but next time i'll just buy a pc and use remote desktop via ipad or Tablet pc.

As long as your wifi is good, you should'nt have any problems using remote desktop.

I just checked, been playing at 1920 x 1080 resolution through ipad.

Tried it at 2224 x 1668 res, which I think is my current ipad pro 2017 highest resolution, bit grainny, but fine.

I'll stay with the 1920 x 1080, suits my wifi connection speed better.

1024 x 768 res is a little low, maybe you could try doing something about your wifi.

Thats the settings I use with TGC2019 for TGC I use chrome remote desktop.

Chrome lets me pinch the screen on ipad larger or smaller with TGC but doesn't work well with TGC2019 for some reason.

Tried TGC at 2224 x 1668 res works fine, think its wifi speed which determines how well remote desktop works.

I had to be specific that I only own TGC2019 so will try 1920x1080 settings.
