Interesting problem using 2 displays and new desktop

I have a problem that’s baffling me … need help … I had a MSI laptop with a Rtx 2070 and was running it to a viewsonic 50 inch view board touchscreen I had a mini display port adapter from the laptop to the view board and a HDMI from the Laptop to my viewsonic 4K projector …. Worked great .. it didn’t matter if I turned on the laptop 1st or the view board or the projector it always worked

problem upgraded to a new desktop with rtx 3080ti it’s a now now the only way the video works on the projector and the view board is … I must turn on the pc followed by the projector and the view board last or I get no video??? And this one really stumps me if I was to restart the desktop once it re-boots no video on either projector or view board .. I have to turn everything off and start up in the sequence that works ..

before anyone thinks it’s the desktop well it’s not I just had 2 Alienware desktops with rtx 3080,s that did exactly the same thing
I suspect it’s the video card signal I can’t think of anything else … HELP…….

Does the Windows display settings at least know (and show) that there is a monitor/projector connected when it shows no video?

Also, maybe try a latest driver directly from nvidia.com for your card.

Check that the projector is on the correct input channel. It could be auto detecting the input when you boot it 2nd but not when you boot it first. My projector sits on “no signal” and stops autodetecting if it goes 30 seconds without detecting anything.

If I unplug the projector and boot up only using the view board it will recognize it maybe 1 out of 10 times mostly I’ll get no signal ….
this happens weather I use dvi or hdmi ….
