  • Think i got a good deal

Got the following desktop ordered today. I got a small discount from my work, but that was only a small discount. I was most happy about being able to get the 3080 video card.

Total shipped price was about $1450 including tax. On top of that, I will get back 10% from Rakuten (pre-tax and shipping price)

Seems like a decent deal. You might have been able to source it a la carte for a little cheaper, and a bigger NVME would be nice. What software are you planning on running?

Not a 100 percent sure yet, but will have a Bushnell Launch Pro and will figure out which of the associated sim software i like best.

I couldn't find a source with RTX 3080 graphics cards for less than around $800

Makes sense. I'm assuming you are using FSX Play, which doesn't look to support AMD GPU's. Also their recommended cpu spec's are pretty high, so that 3080 will likely help. I've seen a few 3080's on newegg for about 730. Looking at your list a little closer, you are probably doing better than what you could source on your own.

Only thing yo look out for is filling up the 256gb NVMe Ssd.

The 1tb versions are very cheap now (when on sale) and really easy to clone when you need to.

600 watt power supply is a little under powered for a 3080

That is a pretty good deal, my sim PC from this Black Friday was similar specs for $1999. I agree though, 600W is not enough power supply. Everything I’ve read says the minimum is 750W for the RTX 3080. For example, the Acer Predator I have came with a RTX 3080 and a 800W power supply.

im going to be swapping in a 850 watt PSU and swapping the case as well. Heard the Omen has poor airflow in the case.
