  • Reasonable graphics card you can guess will work w/ nextgen GSPro or TGC2019 (non-4k)

Looking at a build. Do not want to be outdated as soon as I buy. Just looking for a decent graphics card that will not give me any trouble on any next gen.

I know anything will be a guess because the specs have not been released.

I went 4070TI to try and future proof and make sure I could run FSX Play and that other software. Runs FSX great, will find out about the other software in a week or so when my trial ends. I run 4k dual screens no issues.

Depends if you have (in the next several years) aspirations for 4K. Since you specifically mention non-4K I will say that you can save considerable cash by going back a generation (3070ti about 1/2 the price of 4070ti) or less capable current gen 4070 is again about half the price of the 'ti' version. I am running a 2080Super and run at full graphics speeds for both GSPro and FSX Play at WUXGA (1920 x 1200) resolutions with no issues at all, though I would stick with 40xx or 30xx at this stage.

The specs can be confusing, we totally understand. It really depends on the software you are running. I know you stated GSPro and TGC but even in those programs they have some areas that will tax the GPU. Surfthing.com builds custom PC's for the golf industry with those specs in mind. We have tested each software with hardware builds and have documented it on the website. We build 2 base spec PC's that will be a balance between 1080p and a different one for those that are looking for 4K. If you are looking to customize your build, we can help with that as well, and then at that point, you can configure how you want it.
Let us know if you have questions. We have more knowledge about every system and will be happy to install and activate it for you before we ship it to you.

To be clear, this is the max you need to consider, the 4070 non ti or probably 4060ti would do 1080p and have some leg room. The big gotcha would be if you want to upgrade to 4K, that needs a bit more horsepower and I am not sure I would recommend anything below a 4070ti or 3080/3090 if that's in the plans. All said and done I didn't' want to spend 500 on a card this year and 500 more on a card in a year or so, so just dropped the 800 today. Happy with my choice. Runs GSPro no problems, 60 fps + at 4K, runs forza horizon 4 at 4K 60fps +, runs Jedi Survivor at 4K at 50-60 fps+. This is all while running a TV as well with youtube or pandora on it.
