  • Computer for qed ?

I purchased a qed and I was spying out my wife's computer wondering if I can "repurpose" it for my simulator. Save me from buying a new unit. Its a HP Omen 17" laptop. Nvidia geforce rtx, intel core i7 9th gen - 9750H @2.60 , Memory 16 GB ram , 64 bit op sys x64-based processor
She uses for her photoshop photo editing , . Probably 4 years old. Looking to run the ignite software and then possibly GSpro or TGC 2019, no 4k power needed. thanx, this is all Greek to me !

PS, is there a data base that shows a history of graphic cards so you can compare older to newer?

What RTX video card? Should be 4 digit number starting with either 2 or 3. Higher the better.

I'd get the hardware requirements from whatever softwares you intend to run and determine minimum requirements. Seems you are OK w/less than 4k output - that will lower requirements.

Folks will say don't use a laptop. I do that for Foresight FSX2020 and TGC 2019. It will run both at same time, although no reason to do so. Runs hot. So be it. For sure, desktop unit would be better.

Thanx, its a RTX 2060. It's not ideal for me to use my wife's laptop, she spends hours every evening after a photo session downloading and editing. I guess I could try it out and then get a proper desktop later. I have no insight what's involved with moving the golf software from one computer to another.
