I had the chance to review of the new GSPro wireless control box called the Tee Box Pro by MapleLabCreation based in Ontario Canada.
This is a wonderful local company that has other items like a Square protective case/alignment tool, ball dispenser and multiple control boxes.
For folks who don’t know, a golf simulator control box is an external device that lets you control simulator functions directly from the hitting area, eliminating the need to walk back and forth to a keyboard or mouse.
Those who don’t have a control box should really consider one. Most who do , love it!! I love them! They save time and are really convenient allowing for fast aim adjustment, club change, Mulligan’s (oops!!!!), shot am etc.etc. speeding up game play.
Ordering was easy and delivery was quick with online tracking. The unit was well packaged with no issues on arrival.
Setup was great! Included is a solid control box and usb dongle. The control box is physically impressive. The instructions are very easy to follow. The Usb dongle is plugged into the PC. You have 2 options to set it up. Option 1, the Joytokey software is downloaded and you are sent a link that you download a config file.That file is placed in the Joytokey software and away you go. Remember to turn the box on and hit the wake key if it goes asleep.
The other options is to program it yourself through well written step by step instructions. I was worried about the program setup but found the programming simple and easily done. Overall took only 10 minutes. The easier option for sure is to just download the config file and place it into the Joytokey software.
Testing was perfect. The box can be turned on/off to conserve battery life. It’s powered by 2 AA batteries and easy to change. Once turned on it allows for quick control in GSPro. If you are not continuously using it, the box will "go sleep" but there is a wake button to get it going again. It allows for many functions and is a very solid unit. This new unit also has a USBc port that allows for power bank support or power through the PC. Great option!!
