That's crazy awesome! I'm gonna get one of these at some point for sure. Bet it still won't be able to run tgc at 60fps maxed out without some stuttering haha

I think that the sales of video cards have just stopped. Release date is rumored to be May 27. Prices will most likely be on par with the GTX980 and 980ti which means that the 980ti, 980, 970 will now drop by at least 40% They will most likely stop producing the 980ti and 980 and push sales of the GTX1070 which should be somewhere in between those two. The 1070 will most likely take the honor of best value for TGC away from the 970. Too bad that I am not in the market. For the love of God...... if you need a new video card, wait until these come out. You could also pick up a 980 on the cheap at that time. Also, anyone looking for a gaming laptop...... soon this release will have a mobile version. It is worth the wait. I can see the mobile version being close to a GTX 970 or better.

16 nm process is crazy. I remember when they broke 100nm. 90nm cards were cool and quiet compared to the previous gen. They are now saying that the limit may be 7 nm process. which means higher clock speeds, less power to operate and less heat. This is probably the biggest single leap in graphics that I have seen. 3DFX anyone? You have to go back to 1998 or so to remember those cards.

This suggests the new mobile cards will be largely the same as those for desktops, and will be available in August or September. http://www.techtimes.com/articles/16...to-laptops.htm

I will be skipping this gen since I have a 980ti. There is very little stock out there. Most of the cards @ Memoryexpress.com are on backorder. The few that they have in stock are priced high. $900 Cnd for the 1080 and $600 for the 1070. They should level out at $750/$450 once stock is there. The mobile version of these cards should be interesting.

Bumping the thread as I'm ready to buy a gaming PC / laptop.
Most probably laptop, as will double as my sons for gaming and home work, and then out in the garage for my Sim (have skytrak... Prob get tgc)
Would appreciate feedback on which card I should be getting and also any suggestions on models ( been looking at Asus and MSI).
Looking for best vfm out there at the moment ... But if should wait for a bit.... Then ok, if not too much longer.
Thoughts?
