Computer for Skytrak and TGC

GSF, I am completing my build and would like to buy a computer off the shelf that will hold up for several years. If someone has purchased something recently, will you post the details. Thanks!!!

Probably slight overkill but runs TGC with details maxxed out, flawlessly and hardly any noticeable shot delay.

Maybe add a good SSD in there? The CPU cooler is a waste of money since there will never be a need to overclock that CPU with TGC. Stick with the stock cooler from Intel. With the extra $50.... buy a few extra 3 speed fans for the case.

Edit: key specs, core i7, gtx 1070 video card. I didn't find any that had i5s with the 1070. 1tb hd, 16gb ram. $1200 approx.

likely overkill but I didn't want to mess with upgrading for a while. SSD drives are overpriced on new builds so I manually added one myself later. If you decide to upgrade the ssd, you might have to get anew Sata cable unless you pull out the 1tb drive in there.

i think there is another off the shelf one that includes the 120gb ssd.

Oops wrong computer than one only had 8gb of ram. I think I paid around $75-85 more for the one with 16gb of ram.

K series Intel processors don't come with stock coolers so I had to get the Cryorig, which is awesome btw.

There was an Ebay sale in Australia which made the 6700K only marginally more expensive then the 6600 so went that route.

For off the shelf.... that is one of the better buys for future proofing. Most off the shelf computers won't have that much ram and a top of line processor.

I would have gone with Costco over Overstock I linked to if I had known Costco carried these. I think you would be happy with any of these 3:

No one has ever said, I have too much RAM. If I had seen these deals, I would likely have bought the cheapest one of these three. However, I am very comfortable upgrading RAM later or a bigger hard drive later if I ever needed more RAM or a bigger hard drive (unlikely for me as the computer will be used almost exclusively for TGC for me).
