For those that are thinking about buying a laptop make sure you have room to add and upgrade on RAM. I went with MSI 17" GE72VR Apache Pro 010 with GXT1060 and 12GB RAM but I'm expandable to 32GB. Seen some comparable 15.3" laptops that had 12 and 16GB of RAM that were comparable but were not expandable to 32GB.

Hi can you eleborate a bit further? I am about to order a laptop largely based on the video card but based on your comment on Ram I wonder if this is smart? It is a asus rog i7 with a 1060 with 6gb and 8gb ram expandable to 16gb. How important is ram > 16gb?Comment

I'm no Computer Guru so please keep that in mind. However, I would highly recommend the 8gb over than 6gb as recommendation for the TGC software I believe is 8gb. You can learn more by reading http://www.computerhope.com/jargon/m/memory.htm

In regards to gaming, RAM over 16GB (or even 8GB) isn't that important. It's your GPU that will be doing the heavy lifting. If you want to start messing with video editing then you'll want to consider as much RAM as you can afford.Originally posted by Bastiaan View Post
