I hit a problem with my build....

my screen is 10 by 10 and my ceiling is 10ft so I'm hanging screen from a heavy duty curtain track but don't know what to do with the bottom and sides???
it will be touching the ground with around 4 inches of slack..

I have netting behind it and padding but how will I make it tight if it's just hanging??

Your options are dependent on how your screen is fabricated, and what you have to anchor to on the left and ride sides of it. If you have walls on both sides, you can mount angle iron and bungee or tarp clip the sides to the angle iron to put tension on the screen horizontally. You could also use aircraft cable with eyebolts and turnbuckles on the vertical and attach the screen to cable with bungees or clips. Many, many options but depends on what you have for a screen and what you intend to do with the screen when you are done with a sim session. Some options are more permanent than others, or require more time to dismantle the connections.

As for the screen being too long its pretty easy. Take it some place and have the bottom edge hemmed to the length you want, ideally just touching the floor. If you are planning on retracting the screen on the rail track after each session it would likely not make sense to have a sleeve at the bottom with bungee rope to help keep the screen from flying back too far when a ball hits the screen. A lot of guys use a sleeve with bungee rope to keep tension on the bottom of the screen. A piece of pipe across the bottom is not ideal unless you have padding to protect against balls bouncing off it and back at you if you hit one thin.

I have seen set ups of users on here where they have L and R black curtains that are on a track and tie into the screen with Velcro. That would be a nice option for you to consider. You would have to have Velcro loop sewn onto the vertical sides of your screen, and Velcro hook sewn onto the side curtains where they marry up to the screen edges.

You'll have to provide more details on what you have and what you are looing to accomplish. Photos always help too.

So I have a similar setup and what I will be adding is grommets to the border of screen. Installing eyebolts to the ceiling and floor running some thin cable a few inches from each side. Then just using the tried and true bungees from net to cable. The bottom of the screen is simply looped back and ziptied in place right now (punched some small holes through the 2" border).

The screen is a Carl's finished model with eyelits all around it.
