I'm 6'5 and looking at building a sim in my garage. Ceilling is 8.5 ft, is this too short?

Probably by the time you get a mat under you. Depends a lot on your swing plane though, upright i would say no go, flat maybe doable. Stand on a 2x4 laid flat and it should give you an idea real quick. -
Your personal swing plane and path is going to have the biggest impact. I'm 6'3" and have 8'9" of ceiling height in my garage. I can swing every club including driver, and although tight I can swing freely. Occasionally I make a bad swing and get steep with the follow through(usually when I come in over the top) and I scrape the ceiling with the bottom of the driver. I also have a buddy who is 5'10" with a steep swing and he only feels comfortable hitting irons. In the end, your best bet is to take out a club and make some full practice swings and see what happens.Comment
