My vaulted ceiling sim room

So my sim build is finished. And i want to share some photos and some info (especially for people with vaulted ceilings).
At the moment i am using archery netting with a black fabric sheet behind to get better picture quality. I will change this to a better screen material soon.
I have a frame built with slotted u profiles fastened to the side walls.
With my room dimensions i was first hesitant about hitting driver. But there is no problem doing that, i've had plenty of people over to try.
As i stand close to the screen i really don't need any roof protection. (2.2m or 7.2 ' )
One great thing with the FR1 software is that i can fine tune exactly where the ball starts on the screen. ( see pic 3)
As i want the ball trace to start on the same spot where the ball hits the screen.
I have blanked of portions of the projector output that would have hit the side walls using threaded rod and some nuts and bolts.

I am using a True strike mat and had to modify it a bit so putts roll smoothly over the edge.
This is so much fun, but i need to be careful to not play too much for risk of injury :-)
I have also stopped looking at long term weather forecasts. Hoping for a warm day for golf.
So much easier to accept winter when you have a room like this!

The one benefit of being offset is you double the life of your screen. When it starts to wear, just rotate and you got a brand new section.

So your screen is 7'8" away from the back wall?

No the screen is about 12 inches from the backwall.

I mean to ask, the door that you walk through to enter your simulator room is located on a wall that is 7'8" away from your screen?

Great setup! How are you liking the true strike mat?

The true strike mat is great to hit from and it gives you very accurate spin numbers. (many mats take of lots of spin, showing increased carry etc)

Few questions. My SIM room will be right next to the living room and I am concerned about the vibrations and noise levels. How does this work for you? How far are you from the screen when you are hitting?

I stand about 9-10 ft from screen.
I have a fully carpeted floor and have since the pictures above added some molton stage masking fabric on part of the walls. This dampens most of the high pitched sounds but the thud (low frequency sound) when the ball hits the screen is difficult to mask. (family will get used to it :-)
Make sure you get some kind of dampening on the wall behind the screen.
This will also give you a room with great acoustics for music listening and movie watching.

I am considering a similar build in the area above my garage. The ceilings are sloped and I am concerned about having enough room to swing naturally without hitting the ceiling. The room is approximately 16.5 ft wide. The ceiling height is 11 ft in center but with a 12:12 slope, I lose a foot of height every foot I come off center. Wondering what the slope is in your room and how much height you need the first few feet in each side of your swing?

Not so active at the moment due to back surgery, but hopefully i'll be back next winter for some sim tournaments etc.

I don't understand the 12:12 slope? But the ceiling is vaulted at 34 degrees. Sounds like your room is bigger than mine so should work. Best way is to go upstairs and do some testing. I used a camera to see how close i was to the walls during a full swing. I have not had any problems with people hitting the walls other than some guys getting carried away and doing test swings in the wrong part of the room.
