Poorly placed pole in shop

My setup is mostly done. The only problem is it is in my shop, and there is one round steel pole near the right edge of the enclosure. You"shouldn't" hit it unless you really shank a ball, and I figured the odds of it actually bouncing back and hitting you would darn near impossible. I did manage to hit it yesterday and it scared the /$!! $#/ out of me.

I was thinking I could build a very shaped wedge or something around it to make sure it redirects it safely away from the hitter. Any suggestions or ideas?

Problem solved. I had a friend who is a contractor help me add a beam so I can remove the post.
