I'm interested in constructing a diy impact screen that rolls down in my garage. Has any tried this yet? Looking on ebay for tubular motors, but unsure if there is a particular size or motor strength I would need. Also would be unsure on how to attach the impact screen to the top of the roller. I was wondering if anyone has a home setup for this scenario and what they did.

Hi thundergolf
working with sportscreen to do something similar - for those mentioning not so great frequency of communication I feel your pain. The process has been slow but responses and feed back have been positive so I seem to be making some progress
they mentioned they could sew an extra strip of Velcro to the sportscreen mesh to hang an impact screen from. Is that how yours is hung?
how is the mesh that sportscreen provides. Is it a good backing for the impact screen?
lastly, similar question to envision - it was mentioned that there was some concern about wrinkles on the impact screen resulting from the screen being rolled up. Have you experienced anything like this and how often and how long is your screen typically rolled up for
thanks

My sportscreen is attached to the roller with sticky backed Velcro. My Carl's impact is 12' long so but mounted@ 10' so that the screen has a couple wraps over the roller when hanging (no tension hanging from Velcro). I roll my screen up all the time with no issue of wrinkles. I am very happy with setup. I will try to get more detailed pics

This really looks nice. How is it attached? Is it on a 2 1/2 tube? If A new replacement screen would ever be needed, how much would a screen be?Originally posted by Par2Pro View PostHey All,

Hoping to get mine setup at the weekend when I get back from vacation! Thanks to Cory for the fantastic service and slick handling once again. Shipped to the UK within a couple of days from Canada. A real pleasure to deal with.
My V3 Build Thread will be coming soon!

Hi everyone. I am deciding between retractable screens. My room is a dining room we are converting. Its 12x13 w 10 foot ceilings. The 13 foot side has a window on 1 side and the other a doorway...my wife wants to put a retractable screen in front of the window and ensure the window is fully secure not to get hit
. What is your opinion and experience with either of these 2 retractable screens? Any other options? The goal is we can still use the light/window if we do a heavy curtain on a rod like http://peaksonline.net/steel_track_system.html over the window. Then when we use the retractable, it unrolls and we play/kids can watch tv/movies, etc. Was thinking this projector https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...KIKX0DER&psc=1 and I already have a skytrak in a case with 2 5x5 mats. What else do we need?
Appreciate thoughts and feedback based on experience. I would like to buy the stuff this week. Debating on using par2pro or buying directly through sportscreen, homecourse or amazon.

I’m intending to do something similar, with the impact screen in front of the windows, but intend to just have the impact screen hung from the heavy duty curtain rails, rather than a separate retractable screen.
I’m intending to have a separate 120” projector screen for movies and gaming, as a) I can use a less expensive impact screen for the golf (i.e. archery netting), b) the projector screen will be black bordered, and c) I won’t have to worry about minor imperfections in the impact screen affecting the quality of picture for movies.
