  • Sim buildout... almost finished.

Almost finished with building my simulator. Carpeting was installed today. Received my cg2 and just got the link to download fsx 3.01. Putting green will be installed on Monday. Could not have built this without the combined knowledge on this website. Thank you!

Cameras Added. I think this really makes the golf sim useful. Very helpful while practicing and keeps me from going into rapid fire mode 😀.

Very cool, what camera/software combo are you using currently? You should really put up a YouTube video. Your space is looking effing great.

Wow, this looks awesome. What are the dimensions of your room? I have a 20X16 ft shed I am going to convert to a sim room. Wondering how much seating room I will have behind the hitting area.

Thanks Guys! I went with the V1 Hd pro swing system. The cameras are IDS USB 3 color HD 240 frames per second. You need a fast computer with at least a 6 core processor to get the high frame rate. When researching which camera system, each of the 3 major players... V1, JC Video and Swing Catalyst had their own advantages (and disadvantages). In the end, I decided to go with V1 as I felt their system has really good customer service, HD color cameras, is user friendly and my instructor also uses V1. I wanted to go with Swing Catalyst as it would work receive data and trigger from my GC2, but their cameras were not HD. I was concerned how the low resolution cameras would look on a 4k 55" TV. JCV seemed like a good option and probably would have worked just as well as the V1. They also seemed to have really good customer service. Their software did seem to give you the most options to do different things. Really, they all seem like nice systems and I do not think anyone would go wrong with any one of them.

WP ... the room is 15' wide by abouit 25' deep. I have about 30" behind the impact screen. The green area comes out about 15'. Hitting area is around 11' from screen. Thanks again.

Does the V1 HD Pro software use an audio trigger to capture the shot (and use a buffer)? Do they have a one-time license - how much? Thanks!
