  • Just one more "Give me advice" post

    Greetings!

1st time long time here. Thank you for reading.

I have posted some pictures of the room that the simulator will be going in below. This room is 17' deep x 13' wide and located off of the back of my garage. The beams that are across the top of the room currently are 8 feet high at the bottom. I am removing these beams in their entirety.

    My preliminary questions are:

    1) I am leaning toward the allsportsystems option for the room. The 9x12 Microbay and the 9x12 Superbay seem to be identical minus the caging. The Super has a 5'' wrap around enclosure and the Micro has the side netting. Do people have experience with the two? My concern is errant shots. Is the 5'' deep cage deep enough to catch errant shots? I have read about issues with shots coming back hot off of the rods. THey offer a "blackwrapper option" with shot defender which seems incredibly expensive ($900) and my thought are to move toward a DIY solution instead.

    2) After I remove the horizontal beams there will be no structure minus the high beam of the roof to attach lighting or a projector to. Does anyone have a recommendation on an mounting option. The Benq 2150ST would be the projector. I can run a board across again to mount it to. Curious on height of the projector, and if mounting options have the ability to move the projector around so you don't have to get the mounting board install "perfect height"

I look forward to hearing from previous DIYs here.
