hi .
been reading the different post on bounce back. have taken a lot of types.

wanted to know if i hand a catchnet in back of the screen should the catchnet be fixed tight to absorb more of the screen hit or should it hanging freely to slow down screen longer.


i have already taken the tight out of the impact screen. close to having waives in it which i dont like and still have lots of bouce.

I have made my net pretty tight along the sides but didn't secure it to the bottom right behind the screen. I don't get much bounce back with the exception of drivers and the ball still doesn't make it back to the hitting mat. I made it tight to avoid wear on the screen and it happened to reduce bounce back at the same time. I've had it this way since December and its working pretty good. Maybe someone with more experience can weigh in.

I hit from 1,80 meters to the impact screen, so bounce was a priority. What I did :

- Impact screen pretty tight
- Net behind impact screen pretty tight (secure on all side, including bottom)
- 6 olds sheet behind the net (totally free, no tight at all)

Honestly I am pretty happy even with driver. You can see an exemple with a 5 iron on the video here

Sorry for being ignorant but what do you mean by '6 olds sheet' - you literally stacked 6 old sheets behind each other, only attached to the top of the cage?

Ykaar, impressive on how minimal your bounce back is. The way the ball hits and falls is similar to what I have seen with people who use 2 or 3" of memory foam behind screen/netting. What screen and back up netting do you use? The screen looks pretty heavy duty. And how did you anchor it to the floor?

I have the HQ type screen material that P2Pro sells. It is 10' wide. Right behind it I have a fleece/nylon king size blanket. It has some thickness to it but is lightweight, not a heavy blanket. I then have heavy weight archery netting right behind the blanket. I put the blanket in between the screen and netting because they made a slapping noise when reverberating after ball impact. Doesn't happen any more. I do not have my screen as tight as yours, but it is not loose. In the end, I get some bounce back but nothing like I had initially. I think the screen material makes a big difference, and obviously the backup layers. Looks like you are on to something with the layers of sheets. Much easier to hang then trying to rig up memory foam which is heavy.

The impact screen is really heavy yes (but I cant compare its my first one). I order it from par2pro, Impact Screen - Mesh Custom (426$).
The net is a simple net golf made by a company with my dimension (60€)

The impact screen have grommet on all 4 sides. I Anchor it with plastic joint (dont know the name in English sorry, but there is a link on my post) on all 4 sides (including buttom). I tested rope, bungees and plastic joint and thèses are now my favorites.
