  • New Golf Sim Project

Started my build yesterday and made pretty good progress so far. I do think I'm gonna move the netting to cover about 2ft on the left side to cover up that vertical wood piece like I did on the right side. Planning to have a black Heavy duty Vinyl tarp on a curtain track on the right side there but for now, it's just the archery netting. Flooring is made from 3/4in interlocking workout mats that are awesome and then laid putting turf over top. Using the CCE 3x5 hitting mat for now. We'll see how it goes as far as how penal it is distance wise.

    Things left to do :
    1. Staple foam pads to ceiling
    2. Staple foam to 1/4in OSB and place on the left wall.
    3. Hang screen (9x12 Supertex). Gonna use the conduit through the top and bottom and see how it goes.
    4. Mount new projector. (Benq 2150ST)
    5. Attach curtain track and put up black tarp.

Right now the netting is about as tight as I can do it. It's about 8in from wall and my screen will be about 14in from wall. Hit some PW into net alone and there's definitely a lot of bounce back and some hits just barely touch wall but the net itself springs the ball back. Assume once the screen is up, that'll cut the bounce back down a lot. I'm hitting from about 9-10ft from screen. Oh, I used sand bags at the bottom to catch any worm burners so curious how that will hold up. Figured it was worth a shot before dropping $80 on a foam wedge.

Check it it out and let me know anything I can improve on or think about. Thanks guys

Got the screen hung enough to hit a shot. Still a lot of work left to make it clean. If I put a PVC conduit through the bottom , I get pretty bad bounce back. If I don't have anything though, the screen gets wavy and seems too loose. Gotta play around a bunch with the tightness of the net and screen. Here's a 3W I hit with nothing on the bottom. Screen pops up and goes behind my sand bags. May put those behind the net altogether and that should solve the appearance issues.
