  • Is this a good deal ?

    Hi guys,

I'm new to this forum and will be building a home simulator this summer. Currently looking at what I'll need and came across this on ebay : http://www.ebay.ca/itm/10-x10-Golf-I...oAAOSwmLlX4tqt

My room when finished will be 14 X 14 with 10 feet ceilings and thought that this could work. Any feedback is appreciated. Looking forward to joining everyone on TGC soon!

I bought the same enclosure off amazon for 140. The only difference is the screen so you are getting a 10x10 screen for about 245. I would go biggger if you have a 14 foot wide area. I found 10 feet pretty limiting and ended up building something bigger.

My bad. I looked it up and I paid 239. Replace archery netting with screen. I still think wider is better.

Select Golf Net with Frame Corners (10x10x10) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00XWD4N82/

Thanks for the quick reply and advice. Any suggestions for something wider ? Seems like 10 X 10 X 10 is the most common size...I saw the thread that talked about the All Sports System but there's quite a big difference in price.

Tarps.com has the connectors needed to build something like the all sports systems. Modeled mine after their superbay with blackout side curtains. Use 1" EMT connectors from Lowe's or HD to widen beyond 10'.

Something else to consider - a 10x10 screen will cause you to lose some projection on the bottom and top edges. I'd go with something that is 4:3 or 16:9 based on what software/comupting system you'll be using. I've got a 10x8 enclosure and it works great for me.

brock, what material did you use for blackout side curtains?
