    Best Impact Screen

Just inquiring to what people think is the best impact screen. I'm talking best durability, great/really good picture, and doesn't break the bank.
I've had supertex hd impact screen and thought the price was good, but the picture wasn't all that great from what was promoted, and durability not great at all. Lasted only six months!
I had a poly screen from allsportssytems and thought the durability was very good and the picture was pretty good, but could have been better . Price was around $300 or so for a 10 x 9.6.

Essentially, just trying to gauge what people's experiences have been. With Carl's, West Coast Netting, Par2Pro HQ screen, etc. I would like my next screen to have a pretty good picture and really good durability! Any opinions/suggestions are appreciated.

P.S. I am not good with raw materials

I went with Carl's premium and really like it. Quiet with no bounce back. Only 4-months in so can't speak much on durability but with the grommets I plan on turning it over and flip it around as needed to stretch its life. No signs of wear yet and picture is sharp. Just isn't cheap.

Noticed that Carl's has 3 different screen versions. Mesh, Preferred & Premium. Does anybody know if the Preferred is more durable and if it has a better picture than the Basic mesh? The premium is far too pricey, so that is out of the equation. Just looking for further feedback on the different types.
My only other option right now is West Coast Netting, which seems to be reasonably priced. Any feedback on durability and picture on this PR-20, would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks

My Golf Spy .com has a review, with close-up wear pictures, comparing Carl's Preferred and Premium from thousands of shots testing clubs, balls, etc.
The Premium shows a lot less wear, but the Preferred did alright.

Talked to both Carl's & WCN. WCN was definitely more helpful and they do have a PR-100 screen, but don't offer a warranty on it because it is not as durable and costs a lot more. I'm finding that the HD material is often not as durable as the mesh and that is why I am confused when Carl's has the preferred screen and it says it is more durable than their base mesh. Also, you are suppose to not flip Carl's screens according to the website meaning you can rotate the screen, but using the back is not recommended. If someone who has the preferred, which is the middle one, can offer up some solid advice, I would greatly appreciate it. Otherwise, I am leaning towards WCN and the base mesh PR-20 screen.
    Thanks in advance!!!

I have a PR-100 screen from WCN and it has been very good. I have had it for a couple of years now. Has no marks and I think it is quiet but I don't have anything to compare to. Picture is very good.

Thanks pwade3! The rep I talked to at West Coast says it shows a much better picture, but they have had durability problems with the PR-100 material and don't offer a warranty. Plus, she said it was triple the cost. I'm glad your screen works well and you probably are getting the best picture an impact screen can deliver. Great to hear that you are not having durability issues either! I am still debating over the PR-20 as it is a reasonable price and the Carl's Preferred.

I'm curious about the Carl's preferred. The premium is way out of the price range I want to spend but like col says the preferred isn't too bad. I have had great luck with the supertex but put a hole in it a while back when one of my old Taylor made irons head snapped off. The pictures not too bad but would like better.

My supertex was a great price, but only lasted 6 months. I had no fraying like the mesh screens do to indicate a flip of the screen. One day a ball just went right thru. The picture quality was alright. I wouldn't say it was much better than any mesh screens I have had. Basically, I will probably go with Carl's preferred as it is a little more than I want to pay, but they say it is durable and provides a better picture than mesh.
The Premium is just too much at $900 plus. The preferred looks like it will run about $405, which is a little more than I wanted to pay, but if it shows a great picture and is durable, I'll bite.

If this screen doesn't work well, I will be going probably with WCN PR-20 as it seems totally reasonable and has great durability!

Wow you must hit the crap out of the ball. I hit it 150-160 and have never come close to hitting one through the supertex. A clubhead, however....yes.
Do you have it pretty tight? I agree the picture isn't all that great though.

I definitely wouldn't say I hit it that hard at all. Ball speeds about the same as yours, and that is why I am a little soured on it. I didn't have it too tight either. It wasn't expensive and the picture wasn't that great. That is why I am shopping around for something a little better, but not $700-$900 because every screen will eventually show wear.

Went with Carl's Preferred and what a difference the screen makes picture wise. Much better than anything else I have owned. The balls stop very well too with little to no bounce back. Now, if this lasts me a year, they have a customer for life!

I know this is an old posted. But I am also in the same position I have been leaning towards WCN what made you decide to not go with them?

After having the Carl's for a while now, I would actually go with WCN. Next time I replace my screen, I am definitely going with them. Carl's is good, but I think WCN offers a better bang for your buck plus you can customize the whole screen.

How about HQ? Anyone has these?? Is HQ the most expensive one?
