  • Side panels

I am looking to find a material (not a net) for the side panel in my hitting range. I'm thinking a material (sheet like) might work well. I could put in grommets for attaching. Any ideas?

Many people use curtains but if you want something that attaches to wall I'm curious if acoustic panels would work.

      I used a canopy tarp. http://www.a1tarps.com/mesh-tarps.html

MainStGolf how does your canopy hold up to mishits or direct hits? Also, how well does it block any ambient light? Pictures if you have them!

Mishits low or direct hits low are just fine. I did not stretch out the top tight enough, so if I hit one above the screen - hard lob shot type - it will scoot through. It's only happened a couple of times in about two months. I do not have any outside light sources where my sim is so I don't have to worry about ambient light, but what I did was put up plain black tarp covers that came with my original hitting net to give it more of a black out look.

The ones I bought were 10 x 10, well actually they say 10 x 10 but in reality they are 9'10" or so. Not quite 10 feet, which leaves a small gap.

With my garage sim enclosure I went with WCN archery netting on the sides and top. What really worked well was adding 6' wide black Ecofi Autobond carpet on the outside of the side and top archery netting panels. The material is lightweight and serves to blackout any light, deaden sound and give a better drape to the netting. I'm not even sure I would have needed the netting had I just used this to start. They have it at Menards in Michigan. It is cheap and is a material that can be used for car carpet, boat trailer bunks, etc. It does not have a backing on it like normal carpeting. It also attaches well to Velcro hook. I'm sure you can add grommets to it but there are other ways to hang it, like tarp clips.

So I went to order the carpet from the Menards website since the closest one is ~250 miles away and the $163 shipping wasn't going to fly...I found the same product in a different brand on Home Depot's website with free shipping to store or home, only downfall is that its a deep charcoal instead of the black but it will still do the job of blocking out any ambient light

I'll let you guys know how it turns out when I start building it up!

Good find, you got the same carpet just in a different color. It is made by a company called Foss. HD just sells it under the name Traffic Master. Here is the same product you bought at HD on Menards website....

This is interesting. How do you hold it up on the sides?

Interesting. Just looked it up. I’ll need to compare to using vs the double sided Velcro but I think this would be more secure. Do you have much bouceback off the sides?
