I have a Net Return Pro and am thinking about getting a Net Return simulator screen for it. Is anyone using one of these on their and how are you finding it? Thanks.
Anyone with a net return pro using the pro series simulator screen?

I have one.
The NetReturn screen lasted me about 1 year before it ripped.
I then bought a cheaper alternative: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01H43SF2K . This one was only $160, and has straps on the sides to tighten the screen (keeps it flatter). I liked it better than the Netreturn version, but it only lasted 5 months before I put a hole in it.
I have now bought this same screen, except the poly mesh version ($199). I have not hung it yet, but the material feels good and I have hopes it will last longer. This poly version is not on amazon, I had to order through their website: http://shop.virtual-golf-simulator.c...eries-1816.htm

The frame of the netreturn makes it difficult to get the impact screen exactly flat. The screen has no side-straps, and with the rounded top-corners of the net-return frame, the screen cannot get really flat.
To make it flatter, I ended up getting an 8 foot copper plumbing pipe and putting it on top of the netreturn. Then I hungt he impact screen from this pipe. That improves things alot. I also used tarp-clips and bungees to add some side straps. That makes it pretty flat, but still not as good as you can get with a "normal" enclosure.
Bounce back is a non issue for me, and I hit from 6-7 feet from the screen.
Noise on all versions of the impact screen is alot more than hitting into net. My build is in a garage, so its not an issue. But if you are inside the house, the wife may not like it.
Here is a video I made of the Netreturn screen, showing the noise. This was right out of the box, with no side straps and no copper pipe at the top.

Thanks bud. I notice in your video there's a lot of ripples when you it a shot. You say this is significantly improved now you have modifies it? My garage is part of the house so noise might be an issue. I might be tempted to go for the screen and see how I fare, since it's a lot cheaper than buying whole new enclosure etc. This may be a stupid question but what about using a white sheet as an impact scree? Do you think an image projected onto say a bedsheet would work? Chris

There is some ripple on impact even with side-straps, but it is much reduced and the screen generally gets back into normal shape after it is struck. Without side straps, its just hanging there and after each shot it does not really return to a flat state.
A bed sheet works fine, I used one for a while when waiting for the screen. It is quieter than the impact screen. But I would suspect you wont get very many shots into it before you put a hole in the sheet. Maybe a sheet over a thick blanket would work.

Shardak,
I just recently bought the NetReturn and just seeing if you would recommend a screen for it. It looks like you have had a few of them. Or if I am better not getting one and just using the monitor on the side. I have the SkyTrak for my simulator.
thanks

For best picture quality, get the NetReturn branded screen. The other ones I bought were cheaper, but had a wider weave to them, so you get kind of a screen-door effect on the projected image.Originally posted by naterberg View PostShardak,

The screen is OK on netreturn. The big problem is that you will not be able to get it totally flat, due to the curvature of the NetReturn frame. I have since sold the Netreturn and build an enclosure with EMT pipes. It is much better.
If I were doing it all over, I would not get an impact screen for the NetReturn. Especially if you dont already own a projector. A monitor, or a big cheap TV, would be just fine.
