  • ProTee install with a cage/screen/net

Some pics of my ghetto basement setup. I'm just too busy to finish the basement. I built a simple 10x8x5 cage using corner fittings I got from Ebay. I will post a link later. The frame is made of 3/4" electrical conduit from Homedepot. Nets from Ebay. Screen is Protee. The cage and net cost me around $120 total.

    Pictures are here:

1" corner fittings. These use 1" electrical conduits. Which is better than what I have.

Let me if you have any questions.

I think I have planned, re-planned, changed my mind, and then planned some more

Seriously, this is an exciting way to spend mental energy. I stand in my garage, staring at space...imagination running wild about what it will turn into. I know for certain I will have a cage that is at least 12 feet wide and I will have a putting green. Most likely a Pro-putt systems as I really like their stuff. http://proputtsystems.com

I think I have saved pics of every home simulator I have seen to my hardrive. Lots of inspiration.

Staring at empty space in the garage might be fun but at some point, you're going to have to get to work. lol.

        So true....

And actually, since you brought it up...I set my PJ up on my table saw and set the Optishot on the floor next to it. Now I know it might be considered toy-ish, but I took some swings yesterday and it was a lot of fun!

I emailed Cory to arrange a phone conversation for an in depth planning discussion. Hopefully he will have time this week. I got an auto reply saying they are off for "family day"....I don't even know what that is??? Must be Canadian...LOL

I am still in the planning stage, one main factor is that I travel a lot for periods of 3-12 months. So i am looking for something somewhat portable. How feasible is it to create a setup similar to this? http://www.ebay.com/itm/151232672331?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 Can't afford this one but I can buy an enclosure similar. I was just wondering what the setup time for a ProTee System would be.

If you just install the main sensor+Vcam, it should go pretty quick. You would still need two lights. The first two or three times would be somewhat difficult until you figure out what the settings are and how they work. Once you get the hang of it, you can add the H-cam and putting sensor.

Question is how do you plan to install the overhead lights on a portable enclosure?

The quickest method would be to just go with a LM such as the GC2 or something else.

Zmax, are you saying a LM alone or with the main sensor board and putting sensor?
Would the software work with just a LM? and if so that would only give ball data not club correct?
So far as how to mount the lights I am not sure at this point but in the photo they have the projector mounted and the lights should not be any heavier, I was concerned about the heat from the Halogens thus my other question about the LED bulbs.

Yes, heat from halogens would be a concern. At the moment, the GC2 will work with the Protee software. So, you only get ball data. They're looking into a way to add the putting sensor.

The new LM might work with the main sensor and putting, giving you everything.
