How to measure for size of impact screen/net

Just embarking on my 1st sim build in the uk.

Just wondering how to measure for the screen

ive got 4m wide by 2.5m high just inside the structure where in the enclosure frame would be

it will be 33mm tube inside this so I lose 75mm on the width

how wide does the screen need to be, what should I leave either side from the tubing?

looking at a fine weave net to start with to save on cost as the bills are stacking up and the options are 3m tall with either 3.3m or 3.6m wide as a standard offering over here

with the extra height was going to roll up at the bottom but not sure what width to go for or how best to work it out

The width depends on how far you are standing from the screen aswell. You don't want to be twisting your back and forth to see the picture. I would recomend you get this http://www.merlinarchery.co.uk/heavy...2-7m-x-4m.html and some tarp clips and then you can test for yourself. The archery netting can give a decent picture for sim purposes and is stretchable so easy to play around with different sizes. Also consider if you will be using the sim as a home theater down the line. If so you might want to consider 16x9 or even better 16x10 aspect ratio.
